The work of the Foundation is closely linked with work going on throughout the country. For our efforts to have an impact, it is essential that we establish and maintain positive and mutually beneficial relationships with others in the field of social change. While we are specifically concerned with disability issues, we also need to maintain strong ties with organizations working in the field of health, education, women’s issues, environmental issues and others.

The Networking Team is responsible for seeking out other like-minded organizations and individuals in Dehradun, India and throughout the world and nurturing relationships with them for the benefit of all concerned. Specifically, this includes:

• Personally meeting representatives of all organizations in Dehradun on a regular basis to share information in the form of brochures, calendars, pamphlets
• Seeking out individuals doing interesting work and encouraging their involvement in LRF (in a range of different ways)
• Creating relationships where such would promote the work of the Foundation
• Liaising with the media on all issues beginning with the creation of a data base of all newspapers in Uttarakhand, including workshops and regular submissions
• Assisting in the dissemination of the KV calendar
• Attending seminars, conferences and functions in Dehradun and elsewhere and representing the LRF at the same
• Maintaining correspondence with other organizations throughout Dehradun, India and the world
• Keeping informed about the activities of other organisations and participating, or facilitating others’ participation, wherever possible
• Maintaining up-to-date contact information (in coordination with the Documentation Team) of individuals and organizations
