It’s time for our own campus! For over twelve years, the Foundation has operated out of rented premises. As we have grown, the number of buildings has increased, with each one requiring maintenance and infrastructure. Communication between different projects has become more difficult and not one building is purpose designed for the special needs of those inhabiting it.
That’s about to change. Through the generosity of our donors, we have raised the money to purchase a plot of land and are now ready to begin construction.
Our plans include a state of the art structure complete with:
- observation rooms built into the classroom design to allow for non-intrusive training
- well-equipped therapy rooms
- sensory integration and hydro-therapy facilities,
- hostels for respite care and residential assessments
- an auditorium for public events (a future source of revenue)
- a library,
- documentation centre
- and sheltered workshop
The campus design incorporates rainwater harvesting, passive solar heating and cooling, earthquake safety and accessibility for people with every sort of special need.
The project will cost approximately One Million US Dollars.
