It is a great pleasure to introduce people to the wonders that lie around them and within them. So often, we perceive life as a series of absences or negatives: all that we don’t have, all that we don’t know, all that we don’t understand.
The Foundation’s awareness campaign is about awakening people to all that they do have, all that they do know, all that they do understand. We like to take common concepts and turn them upside down. The belief that people with disabilities are to be pitied, for example. Or that poor people are poor because they don’t work hard. Or that India’s biggest problem is too many children. The first core principle of the Latika Roy Foundation is the belief that every single person is precious, unrepeatable and worthy of dignity and respect. And the second is that when we plan for the most vulnerable, we make the world better for everyone. The work of the awareness campaign is to make those beliefs a reality. |
